Was a big fan of Metallica in the '80's(even though heavy metal was frowned upon). Loved everything they did up until the Black album, especially Ride the Lightning.

Heavy metal
by Godsendconspirator ini have always loved heavy metal music (thrash metal to be more specific).
since heavy metal is usually associated with satan and occult themes many christians and jws in particular stray away from it.
in my teenagehood i was listened to it obsessively until i started studying and got baptized at age 18 and i started listening to other genres.

You have to pretty gullible to believe in a biblical armageddon.
A zombie apocalypse on the other hand... that shit's coming.

by new hope and happiness ini learnt this game on another site, and its great fun.
you name a song title and the next person names another title that has one of the words from the first one, making a chain of associations.. so far instance,.

How many did you, personally, entrap in the Borg ?
by Phizzy inin my nearly 60 years in the religion, although i "studied" with a good number, i cannot think of any who could lay the blame at my door for being in the religion today.. one lad possibly might, i studied with him briefly as he was trying to get off drugs, he then moved away, and then married a "sister" a few years later, and is still in, but i doubt he would blame me, i hope not.. of the others i studied with none are still in, the last i heard of one of them, a weirdo kid, now weirdo man, was when he was arrested for "flashing" in a local spot frquented by doggers etc.
i guess i was a useless "tutor".
as it happens, that is one of the things i am proud to be a failure at, getting people to join a cult.. i always tried to not do proper r.v's, and never suggested a "study" to anyone, but some, like weirdo, were shoved my way by elders who didn't want the work themselves.. how many are you guilty of getting in to the cult ?.

None. I'm proud to say that I was a pretty ineffectual publisher.

An important message from a PRACTICING Jehovah's witness
by Sparks inhi, i am also a practicing jehovah's witness and very proud of it,to say the very-very least..!
i am a middle-aged man with many decades of being a witness of jehovah god in england.. this important letter is personally to you, just as many of the bible's 88 letters are to be taken personal by you the reader.
i am writing to you to urge you to take stock of your life, think what your future holds for you.

Sheeshhhhh!!! Why so long. Can't jehovah be a little more concise? I lost attention after about 40 lines.
Really? It took you that long?

Has anyone had to do the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS?
by keyser soze ini did it friday after work, after getting nominated.
fortunately, it was over 90 degrees that day, and felt pretty good.
but for some reason the guy who dumped on me decided to do it really slowly, instead of dumping it all at once.

Good response when you are told " you want to do your own thing".
by jam ini was told that, it's a selfish act on your part not to come back.. well apparently i must be having fun, a good life.....

If choosing to live without the shackles of emotional and spiritual bondage is "doing my own thing" then yeah.

Do you think an ideal relationship can work in these turbulent times?
by Perry-Zephyr ini wonder about that and have researched it in prior times but i see so many that are falling apart.

They'll work just fine as long as she acknowledges that I'm right all the time.

How the organization's bad advice messes up young people
by kneehighmiah inso recently a governing body helper gave a part on the convention.
he said young ones who are saying and not financially ready should knock it off.
what conflicting advice.
-
keyser soze
Their advice to young people has but one objective- to steer them into a life of servitude to the organization. The long term consequences to the individual don't matter in the least to them.

Have you ever been called for Jury Duty? before or after registering to vote?
by EndofMysteries ini've never been called for jury duty and i'm not yet registered to vote, although i'm hoping to get that done this month.
i know someone who within a few months of registering to vote was called for jury duty.
i've read some articles that said voter records 'used' to be used to call on people but that was a thing of the past.

I got called once (after registering to vote). The day before I was supposed to report, I was told that I had fulfilled my obligation, and didn't have to serve.
